Court Lodge is a privately owned supported living service for 4 adults with mild/moderate learning disabilities with mental health/complex needs. Situated in a residential area of Epsom, close to local amenities and public transport, the service provides an ideal opportunity for those adults with complex needs to fully participate in their local community.
All tenants will be supported to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Any physical health needs will be fully documented in their individual support/care plans and risks identified.
They will be supported to attend all health appointments, maintain a well balanced diet and engage in meaningful exercise and activities.
They will be supported to interact wholly within the local community and be empowered to plan their own personal development by attending local colleges, day services and undertaking employment opportunities.
Complex needs such as behaviour that may challenge, forensic and personality difficulties normally have wide ranging needs and will have a comprehensive history, risk assessment and management plan in place.
They will be supported by a variety of Health & Social Care professionals and will require consistent support strategies in place, 1:1 support or high levels of support with effective communication strategies evident at all times. The emphasis being on positive behaviour support, safeguarding, promoting social interaction, citizenship and building on their self-esteem and confidence.
Court Lodge Limited Support Services can offer 24 hours support depending on the needs of the individual.
Care staff at Court Lodge will be highly skilled, motivated and trained in all mandatory courses and requisite training relating to Court Lodge.
Senior Care Staff will be trained to QCF Level 3 or equivalent. All staff will have a clear understanding of Learning Disabilities and 'superimposed mental health' needs and will demonstrate effective communication skills.
The Manager will have excellent communication skills, be an effective leader and be a positive role model for all tenants and the staff team at Court Lodge.
The Manager will maintain a positive relationship with relatives/friends of the tenants who reside at Court Lodge, the local community learning disability team and commissioning managers and will have strategies in place to audit and evaluate the service being provided at Court Lodge.

As such, there is a robust Quality Assurance programme in place that supports on-going learning and professional development for the staff team, the service and the company whilst most importantly, maintaining tenant/customer care. This model is a supported tenancy model and as such, will have one member of staff on-site 24 hours a day. This will ensure that risks present for individuals can be managed, and that troubleshooting and problem-solving can be achieved as and when the need actually arises.
There will initially be 4 tenants in the house. There will be 1 staff member available (excluding the Manager) for 14 hours per day and 1 sleep-in staff (waking staff if required @ extra cost). For further breakdown of costs please contact Mary Martinez.
Any additional 1:1 hours required (for off-site activities, positively supporting behaviour that may challenge, attending appointments) can be purchased as assessed at the point of referral and will be subject to determination of need and funding agreement.
Each tenant will have their own tenancy agreement, individual keys to their room/s and of course the responsibilities that go with this. The tenancy is not a furnished tenancy, however there will be all the necessary communal furniture and equipment at the house for their use. There is no smoking permitted within the house, however, there is a designated smoking area available.

In addition to this tenants will need to contribute to all utilities (5:1 ratio split to recognise the 24 hour presence of support provider) and their food each week.
